What to Expect
First time here? This page walks you through everything from pulling up to the house to heading home after your session. No surprises — just a clear picture of what to expect so you can arrive relaxed and ready.
1. Arriving
Mystic Wyrd is a home-based practice in a quiet residential neighborhood in Northeast Colorado Springs. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your appointment — this gives me time to prepare the space fully between sessions and keeps things peaceful for the neighbors.
You’re welcome to park on the street or in the far left portion of the driveway. Please do not block the garage or the right side of the driveway.
Sessions are designed to be a quiet, personal experience just for you. Please come alone — guests, children, and pets are not able to wait inside the house. If you have a special circumstance, please reach out before your appointment so we can figure something out together.
2. The Entryway
When you step inside, you’ll find a chair and a shoe cubby in the entryway. Please remove your shoes here before heading in — it’s a small ritual that helps leave the outside world at the door.
Feel free to bring grippy socks or slippers from home if that sounds cozy to you. I also keep a supply of complimentary grippy socks on hand if you’d like a pair — just say the word.
You may notice the house has a security camera system — inside and outside. This is purely for everyone’s safety and peace of mind. Footage is only ever shared with our security provider or insurance if needed, and will never be used for any other purpose.
3. The Healing Space
My office is on the main floor. Once we’re inside, the door will be closed for your privacy. Expect soft lighting, candles, and gentle relaxing music — a space designed to help you exhale the moment you settle in.
You’ll be seated in a faux leather recliner — wiped down between every session — with a fresh purple fleece throw blanket, laundered after each use. Personal items are welcome in the room with you.
I do have a cat and a dog, and I love them dearly — but they’ll be upstairs for the duration of your visit. The house is professionally cleaned every two weeks. That said, if you have pet allergies, a virtual session may be the more comfortable option for you.
Sessions are not recorded. You’re welcome to take still photos of the space if you’d like — just ask first.
4. Your Session
We’ll start by talking through your intention — what you’re hoping to bring in, let go of, or simply rest into. From there, I’ll guide you into a short meditation before beginning the Reiki treatment. You stay fully clothed in the recliner while I work using a hands-off approach, hovering near your energy field without physical contact.
We’ll close with a gentle check-in, and I’ll share any impressions that came through during the session. That’s it — no pressure, no performance. Just you, the energy, and a little bit of stillness.
5. After Your Session
When we’re finished, I’ll give you a moment to reorient and gather yourself before heading out. Please plan to depart promptly after your session ends — I may have another client arriving, and keeping to schedule helps everyone have the peaceful experience they came for.
For the rest of your day, be gentle with yourself. Drink plenty of water, allow extra time for rest, and let sleep do its work if you feel called to it. Emotions may continue to move through you over the next day or two — this is a natural and healthy part of the healing process. Give yourself permission to feel whatever arises.
If anything feels overwhelming after your session, please reach out to a licensed therapist for additional support. Healing takes time — you don’t have to navigate it alone.
